Summary

The impetus for this workshop is the result of all the natural disasters of storms, fire, earthquakes and the most recent mass shooting in Las Vegas as well as the political divide in the country. This is often layered by historical traumas. How do we handle our own nervous system to help our clients. What action techniques will be most helpful to shift people from anxiety to hope whether the trauma is recent or historic.

Psychodrama is the use of action techniques to explore an individual’s private and public world in a multi-dimensional way. Psychodrama interventions are designed to encounter people where they are and assist them in contracting and developing the best that is within. Psychodrama helps the individual to express unexpressed feelings and to find and practice new ways to change.

Training Group Objectives:
Learn the philosophical theories of J.L. Moreno supporting psychodramatic action.
Explore the definition of trauma and its impact on the nervous system. Learn 5 techniques that you will be able to use in your practice in dealing with trauma.
Experience the roles of Protagonist, Auxiliary Ego and Director.
Practice psychodramatic techniques, such as: Role Reversal, Doubling, Mirroring and many more.
Be part of a supportive and caring learning community.
Work towards becoming a Certified Practitioner of Psychodrama, Sociodrama and Group Psychotherapy (if desired).

* Continuing Education Credits Available
For each scheduled 6 hour session, Attendees earn 6 hours of CEUs (Provider FL #50-4801, Exp. 3/20 for LMHC, LCSW, LMFT) and 6 credits toward certification by the American Board of Examiners of Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy. **
